Möhren-Kohlrabi-Gemüse
Carrot & Kohlrabi Delight: The Veggie Side Dish You Didn’t Know You Needed!
Okay, so have you ever had one of those days where you just wanna throw some veggies together and make ’em sing? Like, you’re not in the mood for a food battle. Just easy-peasy, tasty goodness. That’s where this Möhren-Kohlrabi-Gemüse comes in. Trust me, your taste buds are gonna be doing the happy dance!
Okay, Let’s Talk Ingredients
So, if we were at the grocery store, I’d be like, “Grab these things!” You need:
– 3 big ol’ carrots (about 450g, but who’s counting?)
– 1 large kohlrabi (around 400g—like this weird veggie that tastes amazing)
– 1 tablespoon of butter (that’s roughly 20g, but you could eyeball it)
– 1 tablespoon of flour (no fancy stuff, just regular ol’ flour)
– 200 ml milk (whole, skim, whatever—just get it in there)
– 100 ml broth (chicken or veggie, your choice!)
– 100 ml of the veggie cooking water (don’t waste it!)
– A pinch of salt (because life’s too short for bland food)
– Some frozen herbs (whatever you like—dill, parsley, thyme… go wild!)
So Here’s Why I Make This Constantly
Okay, story time! So I was at my friend’s place, right? And she whipped this dish up in like, 20 minutes. I was ALL about it. I mean, it’s creamy, it’s veggie-packed, and let’s be real, it totally made me feel like I was doing my body a solid. Plus, it’s super easy to make, which is basically the cooking mantra I live by. I went home, bought all the stuff, and now it’s a staple! My kids love it, too! (And I swear they think veggies are “icky” until they try this!)
The One Trick That Changes Everything
Listen, the secret to the ultimate creamy sauce? It’s all about that whisk! Like, seriously. When you’re adding the cold milk to the melted butter and flour mix, you gotta whisk it like you mean it! No clumps allowed, folks! Just keep stirring until it’s all smooth and silky. Trust me, your sauce will thank you!
Don’t Mess This Up (My Top Tips)
– Don’t Overcook the Veggies: Seriously, nobody likes mushy carrots. Keep an eye on them!
– Sauce Too Thick?: Just add a splash more of that veggie water. Easy peasy!
– Seasoning: TASTE as you go! A pinch of salt here, a sprinkle of herbs there can make all the difference.
How to Keep Them From Disappearing (Or, How to Store Them)
If you somehow have leftovers (which I doubt because it’s *that* good), just pop them in an airtight container in the fridge. They’ll stay fresh for 2-3 days. You can reheat them on the stove or in the microwave. Just add a little splash of water when you reheat so they don’t dry out.
If You Liked This, You’ll Probably Like These Too
– Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes (OMG, yes!)
– Roasted Veggies with a Balsamic Glaze (caramelized goodness!)
– Easy Peasy Pasta Primavera (all the colors!)
So, what do you think? Are you down to try this veggie magic? Let me know if you make it! I’m super curious to hear how it turns out for you! 🍽️✨

Ingredients
- 3 große Möhren (etwa 450g)
Instructions
- Zuerst das Gemüse schälen und in kleine Würfel schneiden. Dann in ausreichend Salzwasser weich kochen.
