Ever just wanna impress guests without breaking a sweat? Like, whip something up that’s super easy but looks like you slaved away for hours? Yeah, me too!

The finished dish — looks amazing, right?

Okay, let’s get into it! So, I was scrolling through my phone the other day (procrastinating, duh) when I stumbled upon this recipe for baked apples, and y’all, I was like, “Why have I NEVER made these?!” Grabbed my air fryer and the rest is history.

Okay, Let’s Talk Ingredients

You’ll need some simple stuff, nothing fancy, promise! Here’s the list:

– Nonstick cooking spray (for our air fryer, obviously)
– 3 red or green apples (I like a mix, just for fun)
– 1/3 cup rolled oats (gluten-free if that’s your jam)
– 1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted (the secret ingredient, trust me)
– 3 tablespoons brown sugar or coconut sugar (sweetness overload!)
– ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon (because, yes!)

You can totally sub in whatever sugar you like or even leave it out if you’re feeling rebellious (but, like, why would you do that?!).

So Here’s Why I Make This Constantly

Okay, so here’s the tea: I grew up eating those mushy, store-bought apple pies that always looked better than they tasted. It’s like, where’s the crunch? Fast forward to me, trying to impress my friends during a dinner party (I think it was a “let’s make gourmet food” kinda night). I whipped up these baked apples, and they were gone in, like, 2 minutes! Everyone was raving. Imagine a crunchy oat topping over warm, gooey apples. Seriously, it’s like a hug in dessert form. Plus, it’s healthy-ish, so I can pretend I’m being good. 🥳

Just as gorgeous from this angle too!

The One Trick That Changes Everything

Here’s my game-changing tip: Let the apples cool a bit before serving. I know, I know, it’s hard to wait, but trust me—those flavors get way yummier when they have a second to chill. You can go grab some vanilla ice cream too. Just sayin’…

Don’t Mess This Up (My Top Tips)

1. Don’t skip the coconut oil! Seriously, it makes everything so rich and flavorful.

2. Watch your apples! Bake them for 10 minutes, but keep an eye out—if they start to look too soft, pull them out. No mushy apples allowed!

3. Scoop out enough of the core! Like, make sure you get those seeds outta there; you don’t wanna bite into that.

How to Keep Them From Disappearing (Or, How to Store Them)

Okay, so here’s what I do: I usually eat them all in one sitting (oops), but if you’re more disciplined than I am, store those bad boys in an airtight container in the fridge. They’ll last for about 3 days max. Just reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes—easy peasy.

Yield: 6 servings servings

Ingredients

  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • 3 Red or green apples
  • 1/3 cup rolled oats (gluten-free, if necessary)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Instructions

    1. Spray the inside of your air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
    2. Wash your apples and cut them in half. Use a spoon or melon baller to scoop out the seeds and the core of each half of the apple
    3. Lay the apples skin side down in the basket of your air fryer. If the apples don’t want to lay flat, you can slice a tiny amount of the skin off to help them balance. Bake them for 10 minutes at 350°F to soften.
    4. While the apples are baking, combine the oats, coconut oil, sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Stir to combine.
    5. After the 10 minutes are up, open the air fryer basket. Use a spoon to divide the oat mixture between the apples (about 1 ½ tablespoons per apple half).
    6. Close the air fryer and cook the apples for an additional 10 minutes.
    7. Let the apples cool for 5 minutes before serving.
